This little riff is called Nostalgia.

I think there are only two fundamental beliefs. Love and hate. Hateful beliefs create more superficial beliefs, more division, more distinctions. I hate you creates and sustains a separation between you and I. Loving beliefs dissolve divisions. I love you signifies a closeness, an interdependence, a oneness. Loving beliefs allow us to let go of superficial differences and realize their absurdity, their falsity. The realization of love allows us to go beyond the ideas of love and hate. The experience of hatred is realized as nothing but love. Love includes everything, even our most vile and shameful thoughts and emotions.

Our work is to love the most deranged and fucked up parts of ourselves unconditionally. Not to indulge these parts of ourselves, but to truly love the parts of ourselves we are scared of. Only then can we live fearlessly, knowing that we are loved unconditionally. And then we can give this gift, the most beautiful and profound gift, to others. Loving others unconditionally. Not needing them to be any different, just letting them know they are accepted and loved unconditionally. And with this abundance of love comes integrity and grit. Because we no longer act on the basis of fear, of needing some experience to feel loved. Rather, we know love is the only reality, and so we can do the right thing regardless of any outcome.

To love unconditionally and do the right thing is the highest purpose of humanity.

I love you.
