I want to get back into doing focused working. Being disciplined and sticking to a routine. Here's what I want to do:

  1. It's so important that I wake up early. Waking up at 7AM would be so great because I would have time to go through my morning routine, which gives me a lot of momentum, as well as plan out my day. It's just so hard to sleep early enough that I would get enough rest before waking up. I'll try to sleep no later than 12AM.
  2. I want to start having chunks of time where I do work. And I actually get done the items that I planned to do. Like if I set out to do a given assignment on a particular day, I want to hold myself accountable to actually do it. I think I'll do around 40 minute work chunks, with 5-10 minute breaks in between. I'll go between different types of work after each cycle: maybe I'll start by doing homework, and then move on to working on a video, and then work on a different homework assignment, etc. That way my mind stays fresh. Maybe I'll change my environment after new cycles too: perhaps I start doing work in the library, and then move outside to edit a video, etc.
  3. I want to read at night before bed. Reading provides me with a sense of calmness and slowness that helps clear my mind before I go to bed.
  4. Unrelated to doing homework, I want to go to more social events. I want to meet more people and practice being myself with new people. I often get nervous to approach people, especially people I'm interested in, so I'm going to work on that. During the summer, I'll try to go to events in Boston.
